Unsung Hero Award

    Every year, the tournament committee ,in conjunction with the Harvey family , awards a local U13 AAA player the Buster Harvey Unsung Hero Award . Fred " Buster" Harvey was from Fredericton and played his minor hockey locally. He played junior hockey with the Hamilton Red Wings and appeared in two Memorial Cup Tournaments.
    Buster was drafted 17th overall into the NHL by the Minnesota North Stars of the NHL. He played in the NHL and AHL for the next 8 seasons and is remembered for suberb defensive skills and his ability to score clutch goals.
    Buster is one of the greatest to graduate from the Fredericton minor hockey system to the NHL. 
    The Grant-Harvey Centre is named after Buster Harvey and his long time friend, Danny Grant , who played 14 seasons in the NHL

The Buster Harvey Unsung Hero Award is awarded to a player who puts the team ahead of himself and known for some or all of the qualities below;

    -Gives 100% all the time
    -Is supportive of teamates in all situations
    -Shows respect to his teamates and coaches
    -Leads by example
